Microgaming Ink Slots

January 6th, 2011

Microgaming has inked themselves up this month with their newest online slots game: Hot Ink. Last month saw a tattoo themed online slots game from Cryptologic. While amusing and drawing out their point of being about tattoos, the graphics on Microgaming’s tattoo slots game are much smoother.

But then Microgaming is known for their graphics—both the look and their smoothness in functionality.

Tattoos in this online slots game feature Stars, Horseshoes, Dice, Eight Ball Cherries and other highly popular and iconographic tattoos. There are also Angel and Luci, two ladies who love their ink. Slots players will also find other symbols pertaining to tattoo parlor paraphernalia on the reels as well.

This latest in Microgaming’s online slots lineup offers players the usual five reels to play on, but there are no paylines to worry about. And forget that 243 ways to win. Microgaming has upped the ways to win to 1,024.

Hot Ink gives players two different free spins features to trigger. The first is the tattoo bonus game. Landing three of the Bonus Tattoos will take players to a second screen with a tattoo album each for the arm, back and leg. Players click on each album and if the revealed tattoos complete, the slots player wins ten free spins with a 2x multiplier on each spin.

There is also a free spins symbol, which is made up of a purple fish and a blue fish. Although why that would be a popular enough design for a tattoo to make it into a tattoo themed slot game is beyond me. Each his own I suppose.

Anyway, for the slots player that lands three of the fish free spin tattoos, twenty free spins will be awarded. And each of these spins comes with a 2x multiplier as well.

While being on the basic side with its bonus game offerings, this is a well put together online slots game. Microgaming is known for their graphics and what better online slots game to show that off than in a slots game themed with tattoos?

Gym Slots for Your New Year

January 4th, 2011

Getting in shape and going to the gym are two variations of the most common New Year’s resolution. Everyone wants to hit the gym and get back in shape and get skinny.

But Bodog has released an online slots game that is about getting fat—in the bankroll that is.

The latest, and first up, in the New Year from Bodog is called Freaky Gym. Yes, you are going to go to the gym, but you this one is better if for only one reason: you will not get sweaty.

This five reel is special in that slots players can collect every sixty spins. That is the main, call to fame feature of this online slots game.

The sixty spin feature is called Freaky Pot. It is based on the idea that you will be rewarded if you stick with it—kind of like eventually you will get something out of going to the gym again and again and again and….

But this Freaky Pot feature is a bit sneaky—not that I blame it, it is associated with a gym and gyms are on my list of sneaky. The pot is built up over the course of sixty spins. But where does that money come from?

From your own wagers: 5% of your wager is put into the Freaky Pot as long as your wager is a minimum of $0.50. So, yes, you are collecting back a bit of what you put in. And that means you are not actually winning anything from the online casino.

So let’s say you are only wagering the $0.50 minimum. In sixty spins that is a total of $30. Of that $30, 5% is $1.50. So in sixty spins, only $1.50 is put into the Freaky Pot; and after those sixty spins you are only guaranteed back that $1.50 of the $30 you just wagered.

Does indeed sound like a real gym: put in a lot, get a little back.

Now it is possible to win a random multiplier on the Freak Pot when it comes time to collect it. This said multiplier can also be increased by landing Scatters, which are weights, when slots players land two or more on the reels—kind of like the more weights you use, the more you are working yourself and the more, in theory, you get out of it.

There are other bonuses in Freaky Gym but Freaky Pot is the highlighted bonus feature. Bodog did a good job modeling Freaky Gym after a real gym—especially when it comes to the idea of putting in more than you get out.

Online Slots for New Year’s

December 28th, 2010

With the holidays finally behind us, it is now time to look towards closing out 2010 and welcoming in a new year. And to go with sending off an old year and welcoming in the new comes the perfect online slots game for the job.

Rival Gaming has remade an oldie but a goodie from their online slots game arsenal: Reel Party.

The new, updated version is called Reel Party Platinum.

The new and improved Real Party Platinum online slots game features five reels with fifteen paylines for players to play on. Wagers are as low as $0.01 per payline up to $1 per payline; this makes the smallest total wager $0.15 and the largest $15, making this a versatile online slots game, meeting the playing needs of low rollers and high rollers alike.

In other words, every online slots player can spin in the New Year with Reel Party Platinum.

Baby New Year is the Wild symbol, and this little guy will take the place of any symbol on the reels to help complete winning combinations—except for the Scatter and Bonus symbols that is.

And speaking of that Scatter, the free spins are triggered by the free spins symbol. Landing three will give ten free spins, with the maximum amount of free spins to be won being one hundred.

But it is the bonus game that makes Reel Party Platinum the fun that it is—other than winning of course.

The Champagne Bottle is the Bonus symbol. Landing three or more will send players to the liquor store on a champagne run; after all you cannot have a New Year’s party without champagne. Online slots players will get to choose three bottles of champagne from the liquor store. Each bottle will reveal a bonus amount that the player gets to keep. Consider it your fee for going and getting the bubbly.

Reel Party Platinum brings the fun and excitement of New Year’s Eve party to players in the form of an online slots game. Rival Gaming has done an excellent job in their remake of the original.

Who You Gonna Call? Slots

December 28th, 2010

You know that phrase. Everyone knows that phrase. And probably the theme song that goes with it as well, even if you never saw any of the movies or cartoons.

I am talking about the Ghostbusters. And now the popular movies have been made into a slot machine by International Game Technology. The new slots game was out to be tried and taken for a few spins at this year’s Global Gaming Expo.

While regular game play on the Ghostbusters is pretty basic, it is infused with shots from the movie as well as a few video clips.

But the real Ghostbusters power of awe lies in its bonus games.

Bonus games are presented to players in a haunted house with Slimer as your host.

One of the bonus games is a ‘pick your prize’ type of bonus game called the Ballroom Bonus. This one obviously takes place in a haunted ballroom and sets players to combing the room, along with Slimer, for ghosts and ghouls to bust. And if you do not begin checking out the various hiding places, Slimer will get up to mischief until you do.

Another fun bonus games is the Psychic Bonus. Guess what this slots game bonus checks for—that is right! The better attuned your psychic powers are, the more bonus money you will receive.

Basically this slots game bonus works like this: players are presented with three cards. Two of those cards are face up while the one in the middle is face down. Players have to use their psychic ability to determine whether the face down card is the same as the card on the left or the card on the right. While some bonus money is awarded, divining the correct answer all three times will naturally give you the largest bonus prize.

IGT has done will with its interpretation of the Ghostbusters into a slot machine. But then I have never yet seen a poor interpretation of a movie turned into a slot machine by IGT before. This is another slots game to look forward to seeing on the casino floor.

Group Play Slot Machines

December 8th, 2010

The Global Gaming Expo is the big casino industry event of the year. It is at this expo that manufacturers roll out their latest and greatest casino games and introduce new casino games for the coming year. In short, this is the big slot machine event of the year.

Of the new slot machines put forth, new slots games that players will be seeing in the next year include a new type of slot machine that features a Center Stage platform.

A Center Stage platform slots game is a larger than average slot machine: 103 inches by 70 inches. This is what is meant by a Center Stage platform. This sort of size allows for not only individual slot machine play, but for a group to play the slot machine as a group.

Yes, we are talking about group play for slot machines—the next big thing for slot machines.

And by group play I am not talking about the sort of “group” play offered by progressive slot machines. This is not group play from players playing on multiple machines for one prize.

A Center Stage platform allows for several people to play the same slot machine at the same time…on only one machine.

It appears that the first of these Center Stage platform slot machines is going to carry a theme based on the Batman movie ‘The Dark Knight.’ Players will be able to choose to play Batman or the Joker. And the larger than life sized slot machine will lay out Gotham City on a scale that will make players feel like they are right there with Batman saving the city.

Or right there with the Joker creating havoc. The choice is yours.

A lot of excitement resulted from the idea of group play slot machines, and ‘The Dark Knight’ theme is already stirring up a good bit of anticipation

Virgin Picks Up New Slots Game

October 14th, 2010

While the latest offering at Virgin Casino is by no means a new online slots game, it will be new to the players at Virgin who will see this new old slots game’s debut.

The new old online slots game in question is the Osbournes. This is an older Microgaming gaming creation that has been played at other Microgaming partner online casinos. But considering that Virgin Casinos is one of a very small number of online casinos that has multiple software development partners, it might be that Virgin does not offer all of a partner’s slots games, picking them up one or two here and there.

That is the only way to explain why Virgin is launching The Osbournes so late. The slots game is indeed based on the hilarity and oddity of the Osbourne family in their reality TV show from a few years ago.

It is a shame that Virgin is launching the slots game so late since the popularity of the TV, and hence of the family, has declined.

But Head of Products at Virgin Games, Warren Eloff, feels more confident in how the slots game will be received by players at Virgin Casino:

“Just as the TV show of this dysfunctional family provides hours of entertainment, The Osbournes slot does not fail to deliver in the entertainment stakes whilst also providing fantastic rewards. With free spins, multiplier boosts and great cash prizes, players do not have to be a fan of the show to enjoy playing this great new game.”

He forgot to mention the bonus game, which is called Door Knocker. The bonus game gives players the chance to win up to 50,000 coins.

While the TV show is hardly seen anymore and the Osbournes do not make the news all that often, the slots game based on them a nice addition to Virgin Casino. Actually introducing this online slots game in October is probably an appropriate time to do so.

Paradise in a Slots Game

September 28th, 2010

Find your own little piece of paradise in another new online slots game from Vegas Technology.

This new five reel, twenty five payline online slots game is called Paradise Riches and features an exotic summery beach theme. This comes across in the Dolphins, Coconuts, Island Drinks and other tropically oriented symbols.

While it does not carry all of the bonus features that Vegas Technology’s other new online slots game, Agent Cash, does Paradise Riches does not come to players empty handed.

There is only one Wild in Paradise Riches, but it is a Wild that pays. When substituting for any symbol other than the Scatter, there is a 3x multiplier on any winning combination that the Hula Girl helps to complete.

On top of the 3x multiplier, the Hula Girl will also payout a 10,000 coin jackpot for landing five of her on the reels.

The Tropical Flower is the Scatter in Paradise Riches. Players need only land a minimum of two to be awarded a Scatter payout.

But three or more Tropical Flowers will trigger the free spins feature. Twelve free spins are awarded and each free spins has a multiplier of 3x on it. As another little bonus, players can retrigger the free spins as long as all twenty five paylines are active.

The cost of a spin on Paradise Riches starts at $0.25 ($0.01 per payline) and goes up as high as $125 ($5 per payline) per spin. This range makes this a good online slots game for a high roller or basic player or someone who is just looking for some relaxing slots play in paradise.

Vegas Technology has done a good job in creating a new online slots game to gives off a relaxing feeling while at the same time giving players a good game.

New Slots with a New Casino

September 27th, 2010

Last week the ThoughtLink Ltd launched a new online casino. This new online casino of theirs is powered by Rival Gaming, maker of the ever popular iSlots. The name of this new online casino? It is Spartan Slots Casino.

Despite the spare name of this new online casino, it is being launched with an out pouring of money. This includes a $5,000 Welcome Bonus Package made up of a 100% deposit match bonus worth up to $1,000, a second deposit match bonus of 2005 worth up to $400, and topping it off are four reload deposit match bonuses of 150% making up the remaining $3,600.

But the real push of this new online casino is the special four new online slots games that Rival Gaming made especially for the Spartan Slots Casino. These four new slots games are called: Diamonds Down Under, Best of Luck, Aussie Rules and, to go along with the new online casino’s name, Spartan Warrior.

And like the majority of online casinos in the industry, Spartan Slots is also offering progressive online slots games with progressive jackpots. No word yet on whether these new progressive jackpots are linked to any of Spartan’s sister casinos or not as most online casinos are prone to do.

ThoughtLink Ltd. is also the owner of other online casinos, such as Box 24. Their online casinos are like flip flops, easy to get into and fun to use. Between their welcome bonuses and their exclusive online slots games this new online casino will be a nice addition to the ThoughtLink Ltd. family.

New 50s Themed Online Slots Game

September 22nd, 2010

We have seen what other online casino game developers have dished out this month in the way of new online slots games, and now it is time to see what Rival has for its partner online casinos.

For slots players who are fans of the iconography of the 1950s the new online slots game from Rival, called Doo Wop Daddy-O, is sure to become a favorite. There are Pink Poodles, Records, Jukeboxes and Classic Cars. Oh, and lots of neon sign letters.

It is like the malt shop exploded and turned into an online slots game. The graphics are colorful and have captured what everyone likes to remember about the 50s. True to Rival Gaming’s style, the graphics are well-done and the animation smooth.

The Motorcycle is the Scatter offering an easy payout for landing as little as two of them.

Naturally there is a Wild in Doo Wop Daddy-O, the letters of Wild spelled out in pink neon sign letters. It will substitute for any symbol in the game except for the two bonus symbols.

Yes, I said two bonus symbols. Instead of free spins, Rival put two bonus games into this new online slots game, and they each represent to iconographic things from the 50s: the soda fountain and racing.

The Soda Fountain bonus game is triggered by landing three or more Milkshakes. Players are then taken to a second screen where they are behind the counter of a soda fountain. They task is to make a dessert for a girl whose name is probably Judy.

Various pieces that make up ice cream sundaes will glow. Players have to click on the glowing pieces to build the probably-Judy’s dessert. The more pieces that make up her dessert, the bigger the bonus prize.

The other bonus game is the Drag Race bonus game and it is triggered by landing three or more of the Red Classic Truck. I hope you can drive stick.

On a second screen players will see a steering wheel and a gear shift knob along with a plus and minus symbol. Players have to click plus to shift up and minus to downshift when the arrow points to a new gear. When the game says ‘Honk’ click the steering wheel to give an extra boost to the bonus prize. Crossing the line first also gives an extra bonus prize.

Having two bonus games rather than one is what stands out in this new online slots game. Not to mention all the 50s iconography. Two bonus games will help add to players’ bankroll, which will most likely make this a popular new offering in Rival powered online casinos.

Tally Ho! To the Slots!

September 22nd, 2010

Microgaming certainly keeps busy. Despite launching what is probably going to be one of their most popular online slots games, Lord of the Rings did not slow down their developers and there is another new online slots game launched this month too. Although with much less fanfare.

The new five reel Tally Ho online slots game has been launched.

Taking a break from the usual twenty or twenty five paylines, Tally Ho only offers nine paylines to play on. This is good because it cuts down the cost of a spin, but it also reduces the opportunities per spin to land a combination.

Naturally the name Tally Ho brings to mind the traditional English fox hunt. And, yes, you will be spinning the reels in hopes of finding a fox, but only because Lord Fox offers a payout of 750 coins while Lady Fox offers a 600 coin payout.

That is all the fox hunting you will be doing. The rest of the symbols are there to show off the rich lifestyle that these foxes now have since fox hunting is not nearly as common as it used to be. Such symbols include the Fox’s Mansion, Rolls Royce, Crest, and six symbols of rich, decadent food.

There are two symbols though that allude to the English fox hunt of old: the Horse and the Horn.

The Horse is the Wild. Rather than hurting the Foxes, the Horse helps as it will substitute for any symbol for the Foxes’ rich lifestyle, adding a 2x multiplier to any combination it completes. The only symbol it does not substitute for is the Horn.

The Horse also offers the two highest payouts: 6,000 coins for five Horses and 1,000 coins for four Horses.

As for that Horn, it is the Scatter and the trigger for free spins feature.

Three or more Horns and you will be awarded with ten free spins that carry a 4x multiplier on each spin. This brings the possibility of winning a maximum of 24,000 coins from one free spin.

The new online slots game Tally Ho offers players fun, hunting-free fun with the graphics and animation that Microgaming is known for. A nice release even if it has to share its release month with Lord of the Rings.
