More Lord of the Rings Slots Promotions

September 7th, 2010

If there is one thing that Microgaming is good at it is creating hysteria about their new online slots games. The good kind of hysteria.

I do not think that the hysteria generated by the launch of Microgaming’s launch of Thunderstruck II back in April was quite like the mad dash to offer promotions for the launch of their new online slots game Lord of the Rings.

Of the select Microgaming powered online casinos, Platinum Play, All Slots and Gaming Club have are hosting some incredible slots promotions and bonuses to lure in fans. Here is what is being offered and where:

Platinum Play:
This is one online casino that is trying to pull out all the stops in terms of slots promotions for this new game.

First they have set up a leader board to track who has won the most while playing the Lord of the Rings slots game. Top players will win prizes of course. And the best part is that there is nothing a player need do to enter this—all a player needs to do is play the game.

Platinum Play is also giving away 1,500 credits and a set of International Casino Games tickets to the player who wagers the most on the new online slots game each week.

Finally, Platinum is also doing a ‘spotted’ slots promotion. Random players who are spotted playing can win twenty five credits or a boxed DVD set of the Lord of the Rings.

All Slots:
All Slots has set up a secret three digit code in connection to the new Lord of the Rings slots game. The player who can correctly guess what the code is will win $100,000. The number of opportunities to guess depends on how much you play. In other words, the more a player spins the reels, the more chances they get to guess.

Gaming Club:
This online casino is giving away forty five free spins on the Lord of the Rings to entice players to spin the reels at their online casino.

And those are only three of the Microgaming online casinos that were selected to launch the new Lord of the Rings online slots game. There are plenty of slots promotions and bonuses being offered with the launch of this online slots game.

New Online Slots Game Review: LotR

September 2nd, 2010

Today is the day. The big day as far as players at Microgaming powered online casinos are concerned. Today is the day that the Lord of the Rings new online slots game is released.

The official name of this new online slots game is The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring, but I think fans and slots players will simply refer to it by the first portion of its name.

Players who are familiar with Microgaming online slots game will remember the release earlier this year of the Thunderstruck II slots game, and how that slots game did not feature paylines. The new Lord of the Rings online slots game is the same.

That is right, there are no paylines to worry about and still 243 ways to win. Winning combinations are created when the same symbol is landed on consecutive reels.

Graphics-wise this is truly a cinematic online slots game. All nine members of the fellowship are in the game, and when a winning combination is made of a character, a shot video clip from the movie is shown.

Clips from the movie are also shown while the reels are spinning, giving some entertainment while waiting to see what has been landed.

To go along with the epic tale, Microgaming has given its new online slots game an epic Expanding Wild: the Eye of Suaron. When landed the enemy’s dreaded eye fills the reel and the sound of his voice saying, “I see you,” fills your ears. Very cinematic.

And who could forget the One Ring, the object of the entire trilogy. It is the Scatter and landing at least three One Rings will trigger fifteen free spins.

Unfortunately the Eye of Suaron is not available during the free spins, but players should not lose hope. Instead one reel is chosen at random to become an Expanding Wild for that free spin. Each free spin Expanding Wild plays a short video clip as well.

Also available are Stacked Wilds. The Stacked Wild symbol is the Lord of the Rings Logo, which offers an epic payout for the player who can fill the screen with all Stacked Wilds.

The new online slots game Lord of the Rings has definitely lived up to the excitement and hype surrounding the countdown to its release. Online slots players will truly enjoy this new online slots game, and US players will wish more than ever that they had a Microgaming online casino that would welcome them.

New Online Slots Games at Virgin

September 2nd, 2010

September promises to be an exciting month at Virgin Casino. Between four of the online gaming software developers that Virgin works with, nine new games will be launched this month, and eight of those new games are online slots games.

Yesterday I talked about how the Fortune Lounge Group will be launching the new Lord of the Rings online slots game this month with promotions to go along with it. They are not the only Microgaming powered online casinos to receive the new online slots game.

Virgin Casino, part of Virgin Games, will also be launching the much anticipated new online slots game. How is it that Virgin got their hands on the new Lord of the Rings online slots game when only a select number of online casinos will be receiving it? Warren Eloff, Head of Products at Virgin Games, has the answer:

“With our multiple partnerships allowing us to cherry pick the best of breed games we now offer unrivalled entertainment for players.”

It seems the secret is all in who you know.

While Virgin is going to be one of the first to receive the Lord of the Rings new online slots game, there are other online slots games that they choose not to launch right away. One such game is the Tomb Raider The Secret of the Sword online slots game.

This particular online slots game was released last year, but for whatever reason Virgin decided not to offer the Tomb Raider online slots game until this month.

The other new online slots games that Virgin will be launching this month are:

Loaded and Tally Ho from Microgaming
Bitten from WagerWorks
Alice’s Wonderland from Ash Gaming
Fruity Burst and Sacred 7s from Virtue Fusion

Lord of the Rings Online Slots Game

September 1st, 2010

Last year Microgaming announced that it would be developing and creating an online slots game based off of the three Lord of the Rings movies: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King.

Now the online slots game is almost here, due to be released this month to a select number of Microgaming powered online casinos. Those online casinos belong to the Fortune Lounge Group.

The Group has created a mini site that allows fans who are looking forward to the release of the Lord of the Rings online slots game to check in with the countdown clock, which gives the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the release.

You would think that fanfare is for a much anticipated movie rather than an online slots game, but the Lord of the Rings online slots game is predicted to become quite popular quite fast.

The Fortune Lounge Group has also prepared a number of promotions to go along with this online slots game’s release. There is $50,000 worth of prizes being awarded during September.

To whichever player that wagers the most on the Lord of the Rings online slots game, he or she will be the recipient of 1,500 credits with the Fortune Lounge Group online casino that they are playing at, as well as International Casino Games tickets.

There are also ‘spotting’ prizes. If you are online playing the Lord of the Rings online slots game on a Sunday or Monday you could be ‘spotted’ and receive 25 credits with the online casino you are playing at. Or you could win one of the five Lord of the Rings DVD box sets that the Group is giving away.

Finally, players who spin the reels of this much anticipated online slots game can earn quadruple reward points.

The Fortune Lounge Group has certainly put a lot of time, effort and money into the launch of the new Lord of the Rings online slots game. Hopefully their launch will go off well and perhaps other Microgaming powered online casinos will see this online slots game.

Mega Moolah Progressive Jackpot Pays Out

September 1st, 2010

Earlier this week the Mega Moolah Summertime online slots game’s progressive jackpot was hit. The lucky player is now the proud owner of $4,170,128.

Progressive jackpots are known for their higher than average payouts—higher than the payouts offered in regular play on nonprogressive online slots games. The progressive jackpot of Mega Moolah in particular never drops below $1 million.

Already the progressive jackpot is quickly climbing to the $2 million mark.

The $4 million plus that was won earlier this week was not the highest progressive jackpot payout to come from Mega Moolah. In April of 2008 a player by the name of Klaus E. from Finland tripped the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot winning $5,556,753.

There are four Mega Moolah online slots games, all with progressive jackpots: Mega Moolah (the original online slots game), Mega Moolah Summertime, Mega Moolah 5 Reel Drive and Mega Moolah Isis. In fact their progressive jackpots are all tied together so that it can be triggered from anyone of the four Mega Moolah online slots games.

All four online slots games are five reel games. But only two feature twenty five paylines: the original Mega Moolah and Mega Moolah Isis. The other two, Mega Moolah 5 Reel Drive and Mega Moolah Summertime, only feature nine paylines.

All four of the online slots games were developed by Microgaming, and are offered at most Microgaming powered online casinos, such as All Jackpots.

The way progressive jackpots work is that every time a player places a wager and spin the reels, their wager is put into the progressive jackpot. The amount of the jackpot can be seen on the screen while playing the slots game, and usually the numbers are scrolling upwards.

And if more than one online slots game is linked then the progressive jackpot amount climbs even faster. What makes the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot stand out is that when it resets, it reset at $1 million rather than at the bottom.

Online Slots and Too Many Paylines?

August 27th, 2010

I was doing some more thinking about one of the online slots games that I wrote about yesterday, Cashapillar. And while it is visually speaking a lovely online slots game with all the graphics and style that players come to expect from a Microgaming online slots game, there was still something about the game that bothered me.

Finally I realized what was bothering me so much. The paylines. All of them. There, to me at least, are too many paylines.

Think about it. Cashapillar has one hundred paylines. If a player is wagering only $0.01 per payline that still makes the cost of one spin $1. For some online slots players $1 is a lot for a single spin.

For other online slots players, the nickel and quarter players, the cost is even more. For the nickel online slots player the cost of a single spin is $5; and for a quarter player the cost is $25 per spin.

Compare that to what they would be paying per spin if they were playing a standard twenty five reel online slots game: $1.25 for the nickel player and $6.25 for the quarter player.

When comparing the two that is quite an increase.

What bothers me is that with those one hundred paylines, players can expect to run through their bankroll a lot faster, and potentially wind up wagering money that originally had not intended to just so that they can keep on playing.

And players do stand to lose more money faster when playing a one hundred payline online slots game than they would if they were playing the standard twenty five payline game.

Slots games are designed to take your money over time. Some take faster than others, but that is usually a result of the game’s payout percentage and odds. An online slots game with one hundred paylines is definitely going to take your money faster purely because of the paylines alone.

So while Cashapillar is a fun online slots game to play and visually amusing, it will be an online slots game that I play for fun since I do not want to spin my money away too quickly.

100 Payline Online Slots Game

August 26th, 2010

Yes, you read that correctly. This online slots game has one hundred paylines for players to play on.

The online slots game is called Cashapillar, named after the caterpillar that stares in the game. Though oddly enough, it is the centipede that has one hundred games. But I guess online slots game developers can be lax on their entomology.

Cashapillar is being launched today at Virgin Casino, which is owned by Virgin Games. Although this online slots game is new to Virgin Casino, it is not by any means a new online slots game. Cashapillar was created a couple of years ago by Microgaming. It can be found in many Microgaming powered online casinos.

Other than the one hundred paylines, this is a five reel online slots game with an insect party theme. Apparently the Cashapillar who is really a centipede is celebrating his birthday, and has invited all of his little bug friends to help him come celebrate. I hope they help him blow out the one hundred candles that would be on his cake.

Like any good Microgaming online slots game, this one comes with some good features. There is a Wild, a Scatter, free spins, multipliers and a Stacked Wild.

A Stacked Wild is when the Wild symbol is stacked, in this case five high, on the reels, making it more likely to have a Wild completing a combination. The Stacked Wild can be found on all five reels of Cashapillar.

As for rewards, the potential is definitely there. Players can win up to 2,000 coins in regular play and up to 6,000 coins in the free spins feature. That is on a single payline. Now factor in all one hundred paylines and there is the potential to win two million coins in regular play and six million in the free spins.

In regards to the paylines and Stacked Wilds, Warren Eloff, Head of Products at Virgin Games, had this to say:

“With 100 paylines, this latest release from Microgaming is certainly a unique addition to our game portfolio. The plentiful paylines together with the stacked wilds makes this slot enormously rewarding and fun.”

While the theme and the bonus features definitely add to this online slots game, the only thing that actually worries me is the paylines themselves. Even wagering at the minimum amount per payline, a single spin can still cost $1.

Cashapillar can be found at just about any Microgaming powered online casino, such as All Jackpots. And now it can be found at Virgin Casino as well.

New Online Slots Game: Mermaid’s Millions

August 19th, 2010

Microgaming is one of the top producers of online casino games in the online gambling industry. Slots players have come to associate state of the art graphics and game quality from Microgaming online slots games.

And today Microgaming releases another little treasure into the sea of games offered by Virgin Games at their Virgin Casino.

Mermaid’s Millions is the new five reel online slots game to come out of the Microgaming creative pool. This new slots game features fifteen paylines of play. The standard wagering ranges per payline are available. Players can also adjust the number of coins they are waging on a payline from one to five. This makes the maximum coins per spin seventy five.

As for the graphics that Microgaming is reputed to give players, they do not disappoint. Players are given Neptune, Lobsters, Treasure Chests and more. Naturally there is the starring character: mermaids.

Players will find that this new online slots game foes off free spins with a 3x multiplier, triggered by landing three or more of the Scatter symbols.

And of course there is a bonus game which sends players to the sea floor in search of treasure in the barrels, clams and chests on the bottom.

Mermaid’s Millions comes on the success of the Tomb Raider online slots game that Microgaming created and released several months ago. Executives at Virgin Casino are hoping for a repeat performance in popularity.

“Following the enormous success of Tomb Raider launched a few months ago, this latest offering from Microgaming is set to be another big hit with our customers. Like Tomb Raider, Mermaid’s Millions offers the best online game functionality and great graphics—it really is a fantastically fun game to play and is of the quality and high standard that our customers have come to expect from Virgin,” said Warren Eloff, who is Head of Products at Virgin Games.

While Mermaid’s Millions carries the graphics and hallmarks of a good Microgaming online slots game, it does not have the already familiar characters derived from a movie like Tomb Raider does. The coming months will tell if this new online slots game will be as strong as Tomb Raider.

Microgaming Progressive Jackpots

August 18th, 2010

It looks like the reels of some of Microgaming’s progressive jackpots have been spinning in overtime. Several of their progressive online slots games have been paying out quite nicely over the last month. But one progressive online slots game has been paying more than most.

Mega Moolah has been working overtime for the last several months. On one hand it is building and building its grand progressive jackpot, which has now passed the $4 million mark. That last time the grand progressive jackpot was this high was back in early May of 2009 when one lucky player won $6 million from Mega Moolah.

On the other hand Mega Moolah’s major jackpot has been paying out fairly steadily.

Like most of Microgaming’s progressive jackpots, the online slots game has three jackpots: a major and a minor and then the grand progressive jackpot that is linked to all online casinos that offer that particular game. It is the grand progressive that has passed the $4 million mark, and its major jackpot that has been paying out steadily:

July 16th: $28,454
July 22nd: $25,885
July 29th: $55,509
July 31st: $17,419
August 5th: $40,476
August 13th: $75,724
August 15th: $10,343

But Mega Moolah is not the only progressive online slots game from Microgaming to be working hard of late:

Treasure Nile paid out $45,911 to a lucky player on August 5th.

Fruit Fiesta’s highest payout in July was worth $68,625.

Lotsa Loot made three payouts so far in August, the largest one being $8,779.

Cash Splash has made five payouts just in August alone. Of those five, two were worth more than $57,000 each.

It seems that Microgaming is the place to be as we near the end of summer in terms of progressive online slots games. With progressive jackpots climbing past $4 million and major jackpots going off left and right, players will definitely be heading to Microgaming powered online casinos to get in on the progressive online slots gaming action.

New Online Slots Game: Spring Break

August 13th, 2010

I know, it is practically half way through August and school will soon be back in session, but regardless Microgaming has released a new online slots game called Spring Break.

Spring Break is a five reel new online slots game with nine paylines and lots of fun in the sun. Symbols include guys and gals in their bathing suits on the beach or at the pool, a Sun Set, some Barbecue (yum!), Burgers, Pizza, Chips and Beer.

But the spring fun does not stop there. Players will be spinning the reels to win some money to bring home from their spring break antics—it is not all about partying and the beach, souvenirs are needed too. And what better souvenir is there from this online slots game than some money.

To help players rake in even more winnings, Microgaming has given its new online slots game a Wild, but it is a Wild with a 2x multiplier on it. The Logo will substitute for any symbols other than the Beach Party Scatter, but then nothing substitutes for a good party.

Get ready to have some fun. Landing three or more of the Beach Party Scatter will set your reels to spinning. Fifteen free spins are awarded for landing those Scatters. And each of those fifteen free spins has a 3xmultiplier attached to it. Quite the party.

Even better is that more free spins can be triggered during a free spins. All it takes is another three Beach Party Scatters to be landed for fifteen more free spins to be awarded.

Like all Microgaming online slots games, Spring Break does offer a gamble feature. It is the standard ‘Guess the Color or Suit’ type of gamble features. Guessing the correct color will double your win; and the correct suit will quadruple your win.

Despite the odd timing for this new online slots game’s release, Microgaming did not go wrong in its creation. Think of it as the last fling of the summer.
