I stumbled across this five reel online slots game from Cryptologic—released under their WagerWorks name—that was showing quite a bit of skin.

In fact, that online slots game’s whole purpose is to show skin. But then it has a tattoo theme, so skin should not come as any surprise.

Noughty Crosses does not feature any paylines because it is one of those online slots games with 243 ways to win. All a player need do is land the same symbol on consecutive reels, beginning on the left. This feature tends to increase a player’s chances of landing winning combinations because they do not have to worry about landing symbols on particular spots on the reels.

The tattoos featured in this slots game are tame—nothing racy. Players will see Dragons, Lucky Horseshoes, Tribal Symbols and the usual 9, 10, J, Q, K and A—but all in tattoo form. There is of course the standard tattoo heart as well. Ironically there are no tattoo crosses in this slots game.

But those are not the only tattoos in Noughty Crosses.

The Pair of Dice is the Wild symbol and will substitute for any of the other tattoos in the slots game except for the X and O symbols—those are the bonus symbols.

While both the X and O are bonus symbols, they do not work together, meaning that if you want to trigger the free spins you need to land three Xs or three Os on reels two, three and four at the same time.

If a player lands three Xs or three Os they will set off five free spins. But that is not the end of the Xs and Os.

Let’s say you landed the three necessary Xs. During the free spins you have triggered, any extra Xs you land will add another free spin to your remaining free spins.

Conversely, if you trigger the free spins with the Os, any additional Os will add more free spins.

And there is no limit to how many free spins you can have. So if you keep landing an X or an O, you will keep having free spins.

While I doubt that this is a result of the Christmas holidays, Virgin Games has launched two new online slots games this month.

And by ‘new’ I mean new to Virgin. These are not necessarily brand new online slots games, as Virgin has a tendency to release online slots games that have been out for awhile. Perhaps this is a result of them being powered by multiple casino game software developers; they have online slots games from Microgaming, Cryptologic, WagerWorks and others.

The first of the two new online slots games is a five reel, twenty five payline slots game called Crocodopolis from NextGen. That is fun to say.

The nifty feature about in Crocodopolis is its Slide a Wild feature. This feature allows players to control the strength of the Wilds in the game. The slider begins on the left side, by reel one. Players can adjust the slider, and the further to the right they move it the stronger the Wilds become.

Now to my reasoning I would have that slider all the way to the right so that the Wilds were the strongest when landed to win more from them. Perhaps there is a trick to this Slide a Wild feature that Virgin is not letting on about.

The second new online slots games is called The 100,000 Pyramid, which is a five reel, fifteen payline slots game from WagerWorks.

This one is based on a US game show called by the same name. In the online slots variation, players can win up to 100,000xs their wager by triggering the pyramid bonus game, and then climbing that pyramid, accumulating multipliers and free spins.

Both are sure to be fine additions to Virgin’s slots games lineup, and with that rather intriguing Slide a Wide feature.

Recently the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) happened in Las Vegas. Already slots players are excited about new slot machines that manufacturers are looking to roll out in the early portion of 2011.

Every now and then I miss a new online slots game when it makes its debut. Perhaps this can be owed to software developers and online casinos wishing to not make a big splash, especially right before the launch of all their Christmas holiday slots games.

And so some new online slots games fall through the cracks. Such is the case with Sushi Express.

This is a five reel online slots game by Wagerlogic with thirty paylines of play.

On the surface there is nothing remarkable about this particular online slots game, but I do like the theme as I love sushi. And in all reality, a good majority of the time players will choose an online slots game to play based purely on the theme. So. I like sushi; therefore I shall go over a sushi slots game.

Obviously Sushi Express carries a sushi theme, but the sushi is a little on the comical side what with the sea creatures still alive and not wanting to be eaten.

Wagers start at $0.30 per spin and max out at $300 for the high rollers. This wager range results from this online slots game offering up to thirty coins to be wagered per payline. Each coin can be worth $0.01 up to $10.

There are two bonus features in Sushi Express, one on the reels and one in a second screen.

Yesterday talked about how Paddy Power is going to be launching two new 3D online slots games this coming January. As a part of the hoopla of the launch, Paddy Power is going to be sending its players who opt in 3D glasses to increase the enjoyment of the two new online slots games being released.

Now do not worry if you do not intend to play at Paddy Power for the launch or if you cannot play at Paddy Power period—3D online slots games do not require 3D glasses to be played. But Paddy Power is of course emphasizing how awesome the two online slots games will be with the glasses.

See, I do not think that is fair—the emphasizing part since not all those who would want to play those two games cannot play, thank you Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. But my mother always said, “Life’s not fair.”

My real thing with 3D online slots games is that most people do not have 3D glasses just lying around their house waiting to be worn for online slots playing. Hence why Paddy Power is offering to send players 3D glasses.

The question then becomes why create 3D online slots games when most people are not going to see the 3D effect?

It just does not make sense. I am sure the online slots games’ graphics are still just as nice since they have to be playable without 3D glasses, but I just do not get making them 3D in the first place.

Now if online casinos with 3D online slots games offered to send interested players a pair of 3D glasses that would be pretty cool and would warrant the development of 3D casino games.

But as it stands right now I just think that 3D online slots games are superfluous. Unless you can knick a pair from a theme park with 3D glasses, most players are not going to get the effect that gives 3D online slots their purpose.

Virgin Casino has acquired and has launched another Microgaming favorite, no doubt a result of Microgaming’s newest casino software QuickFire.

The new comer to Virgin is called Avalon, and I think that players at Virgin will be quite pleased with the five reel, twenty payline online slots game. It features the rich and well detailed graphics that Microgaming is known for, but this time those design efforts have brought forth the world of mythical Avalon from the legends of King Arthur.
