Slots in Cashville

April 28th, 2010

Cashville lets slots players play with four millionaires and the things that have made them their money. Join them as they try to collect even more money.

This five reel, twenty payline online slots game actually has the slots players working for them because theses millionaires do not share well. They are Bill Bullion, Dame Von Deeds, Sir Sterling and Bette Boodle. They have made their wealth off Cigars, Deeds, Sterling and Jewels respectively.

But to help slots players in their own quest for money are the Scatter, the Wild and the Bonus.

The Scatter appears as an elaborate Golden S. Unfortunately, this Scatter does not trigger any free spins, so slots players will have to be content with only the Scatter payout—nothing comes for free, right?

The Wild is also an elaborate piece in the shape of a Golden W. When making up part of a winning combination its animation pours forth diamonds, rubies and other gemstones. But this Wild will not be substituting for all the symbols, only the Cigars, Deeds, Sterling and Jewels—after all, our four millionaires are one of a kind and irreplaceable.

The Bonus symbol is a round purple and silver Bonus Coin. Landing three, four or five anywhere on the reels will trigger the bonus game. Slots players will then choose one of the four millionaires and play their bonus game.

I would love to tell you more about any of those four bonus games, but unfortunately it is rather difficult to land even three anywhere on the reels at any one time. So for now the bonus games will have to remain a mystery, like millionaires who hide behind the high walls of their mansions.

And speaking of millionaires hiding behind their walls, landing these four millionaires in regular game play is tough. I was not able to make any winning combinations with them. Unfortunately these guys do not seem inclined to give up any of their money to slots players. Play this one for fun only since most payouts will be only worth two coins. The Scatter can only help so much.

Is Winning in Your Slots Future?

April 28th, 2010

Getting your fortune told can be a lot of fun. Whether you believe what the reader says or not is up to you, but the experience itself is fun. Vegas technology has captured that excitement and mixed it up with the excitement of one of their new online slots games, Tarot Treasure.

Tarot Treasure is a five reel online slots game with twenty five paylines for slots players to play on. Like any other Vegas Technology slots game, this one also features the same 9, 10, J, Q, K and A that are not blended into the rest of the mystical theme of this game. This lack of blending detracts from the overall appeal of the theme, and Vegas Technology should think about addressing this in future slots games.

Thankfully there are symbols that do belong to the mystical fortune telling theme. They include Gems, Tarot Deck, an Owl and a Gypsy Wagon. The special play symbols are the Wheel and the Gypsy.

The Wheel is the Scatter but it is also the trigger for the free spins. Landing three or more Wheels will grant ten free spins in the very near future of the slots player. These ten free spins also have a 3x multiplier, up from Vegas Technology’s usual 2x. Bravo!

The Gypsy also has a dual purpose. On the surface she is the Wild. She only appears on reels two, three and four though, so her ability to truly boost the slots player’s winnings is more limited than usual Wilds. But if the slots player can land her anywhere on those three reels then she will reveal the Tarot bonus game.

In this bonus game players are shown six tarot cards in a second screen. They must choose three of them. The revealed prizes are their bonus winnings.

Regular game play tends to be a little on the low side, but it does appear to do better than most Vegas Technology online slots games. As for the free spins or bonus game, I was not able to trigger either. And that is after losing $10 to the game.

The other point of contention I have with this online slots game is that it very greatly resembles the Gypsy Queen online slots game from Microgaming. Both have the gypsy/tarot theme. The set up of the bonus game is the same—six tarot cards to choose from to reveal the bonus prize. The only difference is that the graphics on the Microgaming version are richer. But the themes basis is still the same.

Because of the slower game play and the inability to trigger the bonus game or free spins while still losing $10 makes me put this one down for playing for fun.

World Cup Fun in a Slots Game

April 27th, 2010

Fans of soccer all over the world are gearing up for an exciting season for the World Cup. To take part in the excitement this year, Rival Gaming has released a new online slots game to their partner online casinos: Global Cup Soccer.

Global Cup Soccer is a in the design of a classic slots game: it only has three reels and one payline. Players can make one, two or three coin wagers on that one payline though. The maximum wager is $5, and if slots players make it a three coin wager it means that one spin is going to cost $15 maximum. Or they can play this as if it were a penny slots game wagering $0.01 and one coin.

With its classic slots game design, Global Cup Soccer features the classic one Bar, two Bar and three Bar symbols. But to do along with the soccer theme there are also Soccer Balls, a Bronze Trophy, a Silver Trophy, a Gold Trophy and a Referee. For easy reference while you are playing, the pay table appears on the left-hand side.

As for the payouts that are unique to Global Cup Soccer, the smallest payouts come with landing only one Soccer Ball—the award then is the equivalent of your wager. So for a1 coin wager the payout would be 1coin, 2 for a 2 coin wager and 3 for a 3 coin wager.

But landing three Soccer Balls is worth 200, 300 and 600 depending on how many coins you are wagering per spin.

Any combination of the Bronze, Silver or Gold Trophies will payout 10 for 1 coin, 20 for 2 coins and 30 for 3 coins.

Also regarding those Trophies, each one has its own payout for landing three of each one. Three Bronzes are worth 60, 120 and 180 coins. This applies to 1, 2 and 3 coin wagers respectively. Three Silvers are worth 80, 160 and 240. And finally landing three Golds are worth 100, 200 and 300.

A good many hate referees. They never make the calls you want them to. But in Global Cup Soccer, slots players will love the Referee. Landing three of him will payout 750 coins, 1,500 coins and 2,500 coins, again, depending on whether you are wagering one, two or three coins per spin.

As for game play, the reels have the novelty appeal of operating like the classic reels from decades ago despite the fact that this is an online slots game. The single Soccer Ball seems to come up a fair amount, which will help cover the cost of your last spin.

Landing any of the three Bars is also fairly common and will payout 5, 10 or 15 coins. This will help to keep your bankroll afloat as it pays out 5x proportionally to your wager.

Overall this is fun game. Fans of the World Cup are bound to enjoy this while waiting for the first game to begin in South Africa, and more so in between games.

Slots Game of Who Done It?

April 27th, 2010

If you were a fan of Clue as a child and a fan of slots games as an adult, there is a perfect slots game for you: Moonlight Mystery.

The entire theme of this online slots game from Rival Gaming centers around finding out who the killer is. Players have five reels, fifteen paylines and plenty of suspects to work with: the Professor, the Constable, the Doctor, the Inspector, the Butler, the Maid, Lady Dunnit and Colonel Dunnit.

Players will want to have their Magnifying Glasses handle, not only to help them solve the murder, but because it is the jackpot symbol. Landing five Magnifying Glasses will award 2,000 coins.

The Poison Bottle is the Wild symbol. It is a normal Wild during regular play, substituting for non-bonus symbols; its award amount is multiplied by the number of Wilds. But during this online slots game’s free spins it becomes an expanding Wild.

Also of help to online slots players who are doubling as detectives is the Lantern. It is the Scatter and will trigger ten free spins if three or more are landed.

But the Body, that is the symbol of note in this online slots game. Three or more Bodies will trigger the Who Dunnit bonus game.

In the Who Dunnit bonus game, slots players are taken to a second screen in which they have to help solve the murder. Presented with a selection of doors, players choose one and are then asked to choose a crime scene, a weapon, a culprit and a motive. Each reveals a bonus amount. The amounts are then added together and that is the award of the bonus game.

Game play can run a little slow sometimes, but overall this game will put you close to where you started money-wise if not a little above. Both the free spins and the bonus game are triggerable. While the bonus game is more fun to play, the free spins seem to be more rewarding: playing $0.15 per spin, I won $7.48 in one set of free spins.

Moonlight Mystery is a pretty good slots game to play. It is entertaining even if you are playing for fun, but you could play this one low to medium stakes as well.

Slots Surf’s Up

April 26th, 2010

Ever wonder what happens when you give a group of primates surfboards? Well, if you like slots then there is an online slots game for you: Big Break.

This five reel, fifteen payline online slots game from Microgaming is themed around five members of the primate family, including a gorilla and an orangutan, who have made a trip to the beach to enjoy a day of surfing.

The five primates are among the symbols with animations of each one enjoying their day at the beach with their boards. There are Avocados, Papayas, Kiwis, Coconuts and, of course, Bananas. But the fun in the sun does not end with a gorilla hanging ten and a bunch of fruit. There are also the bonus symbols.

First up are the two Wilds. Yes, there are two in this online slots game. The first is the Big Break Wild. This wave only substitutes for the five primate symbols.

The other Wild is the Lucky Break. This is a rather interesting Wild. Like any other online slots game, all the paylines pay left to right. But the Lucky Break only appears on the fifth reel because when it is a part of a winning combination, it pays right to left on those combinations.

The Munky Wax Tin will trigger fifteen free spins. Rather than a multiplier, the five primate symbols function as Scatters during the free spins to help boost your winnings during the free spins.

Then there is the bonus game. It is triggered when each of the five primate symbols lands on the reels, one on each reel. Slots players are then taken to a second screen with all five primates on the beach. Players press the start button to begin the game. Pressing stop will cause the light to land on one of the surfers.

Each surfer has a range of multipliers attached to it. The primate that is landed on will then randomly choose a multiplier from their range. That multiplier is then applied to the total amount of your triggering wager, and that is your wager.

Game play seems to tend towards small payouts. The bonus game for the most part will only award you enough to cover five to seven spins, which is way less than the number of spins needed to trigger the bonus game. As for the free spins, wager $0.15 per spin and $8.00 less and I still was not able to trigger them. I have to say that this one is good for playing for fun, maybe low stakes at best.

Benefits of the US Regulating Online Gambling

April 26th, 2010

For months Representative Barney Frank has been trying to pass his bill that will overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. He does this not with the intent of making it easier for those who like to play casino games online—such as online slots—to have access to their games. There are other benefits to the U.S. regulated online gambling.

Gambling is an American pastime. Cities like Las Vegas and Atlantic City are a couple of the iconic cities of this country—especially Vegas. If there is one thing that U.S. history teaches is that when Americans want to do something they will do it. They separated from England and fought for their freedom. During Prohibition they wanted to drink and so they did. The point being is that if Americans want to do something they will find some way to do it.

In the case of online gambling, U.S. citizens have to sometimes play at online casinos that are not regulated at all. Regulating online gambling would help to protect citizens from unregulated online casinos by allowing them to play at ones that are regulated.

And speaking of playing at casinos that are regulated by the U.S., if the U.S. were to regulate online gambling they would be able to make billions of dollars for this country and to help fill in the budget holes and relieve budget strain.

Individual states have learned and accepted this. This is why some states of changed their gambling laws within their borders to allow for gambling expansion or for gambling period. They understand that the money is needed, and rather than allow the money that citizens are spending on gambling to wind up in another state’s coffers, that money will now go into theirs.

Not only will more money be flowing into the state’s funds, but there will be more money going into individuals’ pockets as well. It is estimated that 32,000 jobs could be created is Frank’s bill is passed and if the U.S. will regulate online gambling.

The benefits outweigh closing our doors to online gambling regulation. There would be more money for the country and job creation. Not to mention that Americans will find a way to do what they want.

As for those lawmakers that find online gambling to be evil, Americans should have a right on how they spend their entertainment money. This country was founded so that its citizens could have rights, such as our freedom of religion. Why can’t citizens have freedom in their entertainment?

B Grade Vampire Slots

April 23rd, 2010

Remember those horror movies that were supposed to be scary, but thanks to some not-so-good special effects, the movie is more cheesy than anything? They were considered B Grade horror movies. And I am going to have to start a new category: B Grade online slots games.

I am not sure what Vegas Technology was thinking when they designed this one, whether they wanted the B Grade movie feeling or whether it was supposed to be on the scary side. Vampire Vixen is a five reel, twenty five payline online slots game that was released earlier this year.

The B Grade feeling comes from the graphics and animation. Symbols include a Broken Mirror, a Vial of Blood, some poor Scare High School Guy and a Wolf with glowing eyes. They are of course accompanied by the traditional slots symbols 9, 10, J, Q, K and A that in no way blend in with the theme of the game.

Now the fun symbols, the ones that would have you throwing popcorn at the screen if this was a movie and not an online slots game. There is the Vampire Vixen and the Old House.

The Vampire Vixen is the Wild, substituting for everything except for the Old House. Her maximum payout is 4,000 coins for landing five of her. But what makes her very much a B grad Vampire Vixen is that, when a part of a winning combination, her animation is hysterical—eyes rolled up, blood running out of her mouth. She actually resembles more of a zombie I think.

Now the Old House. It, by the way, has the classic lightening flashes and bats, is the trigger for the free spins feature and is the Scatter. In addition to receiving the Scatter payout, landing three will set off ten free spins with a 2x multiplier.

After each spin, bats will fly across the screen and randomly change some symbols into the Vampire Vixen to help boost winnings. It is possible to re-trigger the free spins too.

While the free spins are triggerable and do payout, I have to say that the regular game play does not. In regular play, payouts tend to be small if at all. So you really need those free spins.

I am going to have to list this one as one to play for low stakes or for fun, probably more for fun. Pretend that you are watching a B Grade movie while playing it and have some popcorn on hand—make it a fun experience.

Mardi Gras in the Slots

April 22nd, 2010

All the fun and excitement of New Orleans, the South and, most important of all, Mardi Gras comes to slots players in the online slots game Mardi Gras Fever.

Microgaming created this dark yet richly colored five reel online slots game with twenty paylines. I say dark only because it gives the appearance of night time—it is not the scary kind of dark. This one has some very nicely graphics—fun, detailed and colorful. The animation is entertaining as well.

Symbols brought at this Mardi Gras party include a Masked Woman, a Crown, a Dancer, Jazz Musicians, a Swamp Gator with Beads, a Riverboat, Masks and a Cocktail. But one of my favorite symbols is the Gumbo one, only because it had to be labeled ‘gumbo’ so that players unfamiliar with the dish would know what the pile of shrimp, crab and veggies is.

Like a decent online slots game, Mardi Gras Fever does offer two special symbols. Neither one is a Wild, but both payout as Scatters in addition to triggering their bonus games.

First up is the Jester. This purple, green and gold colored guy is the trigger for the free spins feature. Landing three, four or five of this quirky guy will unleash five free spins with a 10 multiplier. As for his Scatter payout, three are worth 2x your total bet, four for 20x and five for 100x.

The other symbol is the famous Bourbon Street. Like the free spins feature, only three, four or five anywhere will trigger the Mardi Gras bonus game. As for its Scatter payout, three Bourbon Streets will pay an amount equivalent to your total bet, four is worth 10x your total bet, and five is worth 50x. Unfortunately I was not able to trigger the Mardi Gras bonus game. That should tell you something right there.

When it comes to game play this one seems prone to payouts wither close to the total bet amount or less. Although it will sometimes give you around double your total wager. Your bankroll will diminish unless you can trigger a bonus game. And I f you do I suggest leaving the game and being happy afterwards. This is definitely a low stakes or play for fun online slots game.

Even with two Scatters the lack of a Wild is still kind of a downer. At least both Scatters can trigger a bonus game.

As for the bonus features, they are triggerable, but there are so many symbols in this Mardi Gras celebration that they do not come up as often as one would like. But they are worth it. Playing $0.01 per payline ($0.20 per spin) I won $4.78 in one free spins session.

Thunderstruck II is Almost Here

April 22nd, 2010

One of the most popular and highly regarded online slots games to have ever been rolled out of Microgaming was Thunderstruck. This Viking and Norse gods themed online slots game gave players exactly what they wanted: a fun and engaging game to play, and a game that gave them an array of ways to win. With Thunderstruck, slots players thought that they had seen the best from Microgaming.

They would be wrong.

On May 4th Microgaming will release Thunderstruck II. Wide spread enthusiasm and excitement met with the announcement that Microgaming would be creating a sequel to the game that captured the attention of slots players across the world.

The sequel will have five reels and, while still having the Viking theme, will now include more of the Norse gods, including Valkyrie, Odin and Loki. If you thought the graphics in the first Thunderstruck were incredible, then prepare to be strike by lightening. From the game’s previews the graphics are not only outstanding, but they surpass its predecessor.

Microgaming has pulled out all the stops for this online slots game.

The Logo serves as not only a Wild but a multiplier as well. But there is a Wild Storm feature that will create more Wilds at random.

Remember the famous Hammer from the first Thunderstruck? It is back and three or more will trigger the Great Hall of Spins. Each chamber in the Great Hall offers players many opportunities to win more. In here players can win twenty five free spins with multipliers, or trigger one of three bonus games: Wild Magic, Wild Raven or Rolling Reels.

In the game overall there are 243 ways to win. But Microgaming has one more excellent feature for this online slots game…

There are no paylines. That is right, no paylines. Rather than worrying about paylines, slots players are awarded every time a winning combination of three or more symbols appears on adjacent reels starting on the left. Placement on the reels does not matter, only that the symbols are on adjacent reels.

Thunderstruck II grabbed slots players’ interest the moment that it was announced. Now that it is almost here players cannot wait to take this online slots game for a spin. And with 243 ways to win and no paylines it promises to surpass the original Thunderstruck.

Slots with Alley Cats

April 21st, 2010

Ever wonder what bowling in an alley would be like? The cats in Alley Cats will show you.

From Microgaming comes just such an online slots game. With five reels and nine paylines to play on these five alley cats show us mere humans how to bowl their way. I will tell you that one of the pins is supposed to be a Chihuahua, and he does not look all that happy about it.

Other symbols include Cat Nip, Trash Cans, and rather than beer and hot dogs these cats eat Cat Fare out of the trash cans. There is also a Trophy that they are trying to win.

Unfortunately there is not a Wild in this online slots game, which I have to take points off this game as no Wild diminishes the chances of slots players to win in regular play.

To kind of make up for it Microgaming has given us two symbols that can be combined and still create winning combinations, but they only work with each other. They would be the Logo and the Fat Cat Bowler. Although their overall payouts are higher when only combined with their own symbols.

The Logo will payout a maximum of 10,000 coins, and the Fat Cat Bowler will payout a maximum of 5,000 coins.

This online slots game does have a couple of bonus features and they both revolve around the Scatter. The Scatter is the Strike. Landing three or more Strikes moving across the reels from left to right will trigger one of two bonus features.

One of the bonus features is a bonus game in which slots players are taken to an alley with a makeshift bowling alley set up with broken bottles, lamps, pins and a tied up Chihuahua in place of real bowling pins. Slots players then choose which pins the Fat Cat Bowler will knock over with his ball. But you can only pick three so pick wisely.

The other bonus feature is twenty free spins with a 2x multiplier. Unlike most online slots games, the free spins cannot be retriggered will the free spins are going.

While this online slots game is visually entertaining, its game play is lacking, mostly due to small payouts infrequently awarded in regular game play. I attribute this to there being no Wild in this game. The bonus game is triggerable but it is not one of the easiest ones to trigger; which is unfortunate since both features tend to pay pretty well. At times this online slots game runs flat out cold.

Limit play on this online slots game to free-play. If you really would like to put money on this game, limit yourself to low-stakes play.
