Microgaming’s Slots Reach Expanding

October 21st, 2010

Online slots are expanding in their reach throughout the online casino industry. Small wonder considering how easy they are to play. Most particularly are the Microgaming online slots and what Microgaming has done to further the reach of their slots games.

Recently Microgaming introduced a new software program called QuickFire. This new software is meant to compliment their online casino games offering. At its start, QuickFire contains one hundred and fifty games, including popular online slots games such as Lord of the Rings, Thunderstruck and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

The purpose of Microgaming is to allow for support of those one hundred and fifty titles without the need for back office support. But what does this mean for online slots players?

It means that it is possible for Microgaming online slots games to be available at online casinos that are not powered by Microgaming. This is similar to Virgin Casino and how they offer slots games from a variety of online casino game software developers. And it is probably how they have recently begun launching some already well-established Microgaming slots games.

Microgaming’s QuickFire branch is already very optimistic:

“QuickFire provides a fast and efficient way for operators to bring Microgaming’s premium content to their players and we have been delighted with the market’s response since our launch,” said Ashley Sandyford-Sykes, a spokesperson for QuickFire

So far nine online casinos have picked up the Microgaming QuickFire software, which is licensed in Gibraltar, Malta, Kahnawake and Alderney.

The QuickFire software is a way for Microgaming to extend the reach of their slots games by allowing online casinos to offer some of their best games. It will be interesting to see how other software developers will react to this very direct competition.
