Cheap Slots Tournaments

April 26th, 2011

We all know at this point that slots games are meant to whittle away at your bankroll bit by bit. And so long as you know that, there is no shame in playing slots online—bully to anyone who tells you otherwise. But just because you know and understand that does not mean that you are eager to invest a decent amount of money in an online slots tournament.

Thankfully there are some cheap online slots tournaments out there in the online casinos. I have the word on two cheap slots tournament series—and they can both be found at the same online casino: the Vegas Technology powered Go Casino.

First up is Frugal Fridays. This is a long standing tournament series that has been offered at Go Casino for quite some time.

A Frugal Friday tournament begins at 9 am every Friday and ends at 9 pm on that same day. Hence the ‘Friday’ in this series’ name. Entry into the tournament only cast $1.99 and gives players 150 tournament credits to spin their way up the leader board; rebuys are available for another $1.99 each.

In a Frugal Friday online slots tournament, players are playing for a portion of the $1,500 cash prize pool. This is the most inexpensive online slots tournament available here that is still awarding cash.

The cheapest online slots tournament available at Go Casino is the Bonus Bucks Weekend tournament series. These tournaments only cost $0.99 to enter.

Bonus Bucks tournaments begin every Saturday at 9 am and run through 10 pm the next day, Sunday. The $0.99 entry fee gives players 225 tournament credits to spin away trying to snag part of the $2,500 Bonus Buck prize pool.

Both of these tournament series at Go Casino are good online slots tournaments for beginners, or for those who just do not want to invest a lot in a tournament and are looking for something cheap to meet their tournament needs.

Mid Week Slots Tournament

April 19th, 2011

Do you find yourself really looking forward to the weekend? Is it the weekend or the online slots tournaments that you are looking forward to? If it is the tournaments, then I might have a fix for you: the Slottery.

The Slottery is the mid week online slots tournament series offered by the English Harbour online casino group. It links the slots players from their main casinos in a mid week attempt to win a portion of the prize pool.

That prize pool is the pot, made up of the entry fees of those who are participating in the tournament. At the end of the Slottery, the pot prize pool is divided between the top forty players in that week’s tournament.

The top placing player receives 30% of the pot. Second place sees 15% of the pot, while third place sees 10% of the pot. Fourth and fifth places split the next 10%. Places six through ten share the next 15% of the pot. Next up places eleven through twenty will share a 15% chunk of the prize pool. And finally the last top twenty of the top forty split the remaining 10% of the pot.

The Slotty begins at 12:01 am every Monday and runs through to 11:59 pm every Thursday. This gives players a way to keep their online slots tournament buzz on. Each week the Slottery’s slots game changes. This week the slots game from Vegas Technology is Fire Hawk; next week the slots game will be

Players can enter the Slottery at an English Harbour online casino such as VIP Slots for a $5 entry fee. That $5 gives players a $200 tournament balance to play with. Rebuys are available for another $5 each and give players a $200 boost to their low balance.

Online Slots for Your Weekend

April 8th, 2011

Looking for something to do this weekend?

Maybe checking out the Weekender online slots tournaments at Super Slots is worth considering.

The Weekender online slots tournament series is a series of online slots tournaments that Super Slots holds every weekend. Each online slots tournament that is a Weekender tournament begins at 12:01 am on a Friday, and ends at 11:59 pm on a Sunday.

Entry into a Weekender tournament is only $5 and players play for the pot with the top seven players taking home a piece of it. The $5 entry fee gives slots players a $200 tournament balance to spin the reels of the Vegas Technology online slots game. And every week the game changes.

The Weekender that started at 12:01 am today is being played out on the Shaaark online slots game, which is Vegas Technology’s way of during the iconic Jaws movie into an online slots game.

At the time of this writing there were only 84 people registered and playing in the current Weekender; and the pot is at $552.50. Players have until 11:59 on the 10th to play in this Weekender.

There are two more Weekender online slots tournaments left on the April calendar after this weekend’s tournament is over. The times and entry fees are the same, but the games will change. The online slots game for the April 15th-17th tournament is Butterflies, one of the most popular tournament games being used right now; it was used in the March Madness tournament.

The final April Weekender will happen on April 22nd and run through the 24th, being played out on Sumo.

Super Slots regularly offers the Weekender online slots tournament series, so if you miss out this month there will be more to come in May.

Egg Hunt Slot Tournament

April 4th, 2011

April means Easter this year, and VIP Slots is hosting its very own Easter event: The Great Egg Hunt.

Okay, well, not a real egg hunt. In fact, the Great Egg Hunt does not involve eggs in anyway outside of the online slots game chosen for this holiday slots tournament.

The Great Egg Hunt is VIP Slots’ big April event. It is a month long online slots tournament that began last Friday, April 1st, and which will run through all of the month, ending 12:01 am on May 1st.

During that month players have the chance to spin the reels towards their share of the $50,000 prize pool. Of that $50,000 prize pool $35,750 will be awarded in cash while the remaining $14,250 will be awarded in bonus money. Some prize levels will be awarded to multiple players, but the top prize is one of a kind and will only go to one player:

Prize 1: $25,000
Prize 2: $5,000
Prize 3: $1,500
Prize 4: $750
Prize 5: $250
Prize 6: $100
Prize 7: $25
Prize 8: $10 (bonus money)
Prize 9: $5 (bonus money)

Remember when I mentioned eggs?

More specifically that the only eggs in the Great Egg Hunt were in the online slots game that this slots tournament was being played out on?

The online slots game for the Great Egg Hunt is Vegas Technology’s Funky Chicken. Think about it—where there are eggs there are bound to be chickens; and baby chicks are part of the whole commercial aspect of Easter.

Entry into the Great Egg Hunt is $10. That $10 gives players a tournament balance of $200. The low balance threshold is $5, and for any slots player who crosses it, rebuys are available for $10, which will give players another $200 in their tournament balance.

The Great Egg Hunt is happening all month at VIP Slots. Players can register up until 11:56 pm on the night of April 30th to take part in this slots tournament.

Month End Slottery

March 29th, 2011

As par the course with the online casinos in the English Harbour New Venture group, the end of the month means that it is time for the Slottery. And the end of March is no different.

This month’s Slottery began yesterday, March 28th, and will continue through March 31st ending at 11:59 pm that night.

Each Slottery runs for three days. Entry into a Slottery online slots tournament is only $5, which gives players $200 in tournament credits with. Players become eligible for rebuys once their balance hits the $5 mark. Each rebuy is also $5 and gives players another $200.

This Slottery is ending the month with the Lucky Lady online slots game from the Vegas Technology line up. Lucky Lady is a World War II pin-up girl and fighter plane themed online slots game with five reels and twenty five paylines. It is a simple online slots game with only free spins available for triggering.

But biggie online slots tournament at VIP Slots is also going to be ending on the 31st: March Madness.

The March Madness online slots tournament has been running since the 1st of the month. Players could enter that online slots tournament for $10 to spin the reels of Butterflies (I know, not the most sporty of online slots games) for a shot at a piece of the $100,000 prize pool.

It is worth noting that many of the online slots tournaments in the English Harbour New Venture group are run at more than one of their online casinos. This means that players are not only playing the Slottery and March Madness against other VIP Slots players, but against players at a few English Harbour New Venture online casinos, such as Slots galore, Super Slots and Silver Dollar.

Slot Tournament Advice

March 4th, 2011

It is the weekend. Well it will be in less than an hour for me. But the point is that the weekend is almost here and that means the majority of online slots tournaments will be getting underway.

Playing in an online slots tournament can be a lot of fun. But if you allow yourself to get too carried away, you may well wind up investing more than you thought.

With the exception of freerolls, online slots tournament will have an entry fee to some degree. Some online casinos will offer tournaments that are part of special series in which the entry fee is notably low. Online Vegas’ Bonus Buck Weekend tournaments are one such example.

The Bonus Buck online slots tournaments carry an entry fee of $0.99. For less than a dollar, slots players have 225 tournament credits to spin the designated slots game with.

For online slots players who are looking for a lark and not looking to invest too much in a tournament, these tournaments might seem like just the thing. The start at 9 am on a Saturday and finish the next day, Sunday, at 10 pm. A nice inexpensive tournament.

But it is possible to get carried away. Players can make rebuys for $0.99 to get another 225 credits. For the player who takes eight, nine or ten rebuys, they will have more than doubled their investment in a tournament that they had not intended to invest much in.

The key here is to think about the prize pool, in this case it is only $2,500 in Bonus Bucks; and then compare that value of the prize pool to what you are willing to spend on the tournament. To me personally, $10 is a lot to invest in a tournament that I might only win bonus money from when there are online slots tournaments out there with $10 entry fees that give me a shot at winning a cash prize instead.

I cannot tell you what is a ‘good’ investment or not. It is up to each online slots player to determine how much they are willing to spend in entry fees and rebuys for a shot at the prize pool.

Slots March Madness

March 1st, 2011

It is that time of year again. Today marks the beginning of March Madness in the English Harbour group of online casinos.

March Madness is one of that online casino group’s biggest tournaments; it is also the last major tournament of the winter season, and we all know that the winter season is the biggest of them all. March Madness is the final hurrah until October rolls around again.

The reason for the success and fame of the English Harbour group’s is their prize pool. Slots players will find themselves spinning the reels for a shot at winning a piece of the $100,000 prize pool; a quarter of that $100,000 will go to the top finishing slots player. Here, check out the break down and prize amounts for the various places, $60,000 in real money and $40,000 in bonus money:

1st place: $25,000
2nd place: $10,000
3rd place: $5,000
4th place: $2,500
5th place: $1,000
6th place: $500
7th place: $250
8th place: $100 (bonus money)
9th place: $50 (bonus money)
10th place: $25 (bonus money)
11th place: $10 (bonus money)

Players in the English Harbour group can register at any of the English Harbour online casinos: VIP Slots, Super Slots, Slots Galore and four others. Entry into the March Madness 2011 cost $10 and starts players off with $220 tournament credits to spin the reels with.

This year’s Vegas Technology online slots game chosen for the March Madness 2011 tournament is Butterflies. Players have from today until April 1st at 12:01 am to spin the reels on Butterflies. Crossing the low balance threshold of $5 will open up the rebuy option, which is $10 for $225 tournament credits.

Afternoon Slots Break

February 23rd, 2011

We all need to unwind. Usually the feeling comes on in the afternoon. Half the day is gone and the stress from the morning and looming stress of the remaining work day is there.

But there is a stress solution. Playing a game, such as online slots, can serve as an outlet for stress. Putting your energy into a different activity allows the vise around the mind to unwind some, restoring a sense of calm and balance. And, yes, slots can meet that need.

For those in the office or those are home who are taking a much earned break while the kids are down for naps, Vegas Technology powered VIP Slots offers an online slots tournament series dubbed Take the Afternoon Of. The whole point is to give players the chance to unwind mid-day and to even win some extra cash.

The Take the Afternoon Off slots tournaments are offered every day, Sunday through Saturday. Each slots tournament begins at 1 pm and continues through to 6 pm. Plenty of time to scoot in for some spins of the designated online slots game for that tournament and let the mind go a bit.

Players will also be to play in this online slots tournament series for very little investment; the entry fee is set at $3 per tournament. That $3 gives players a starting tournament balance of $100. The low balance threshold is set at $5. Players can pay another $3 for a rebuy to get another $100 if they choose to.

There is no set prize pool amount for the Take the Afternoon Off online slots tournaments. Instead players are playing for the Pot, which can range on average around $100. Not too bad considering these online slots tournaments last for only five hours.

Players can register at VIP Slots for any of the Take the Afternoon Off tournaments as soon as they show up in the tournament lobby. Take a break and let your mind unwind while potentially setting yourself up for some extra cash.

Rushmore Adds Slots Tournaments

February 15th, 2011

When Rushmore did away with their partnership with 21Gnet, they gave up their online blackjack tournaments. However, they replaced them with online slots tournaments, whose offering they are expanding.

When the replacement happened there were only three online slots tournaments being offered by the Real Time Gaming powered online casino: Crystal Waters, Loose Caboose and Texan Tycoon.

Now Rushmore has added three more online slots tournaments, bringing their total number of available regular tournaments to six. Not too bad when you stop to think that a year ago they did not even offer online slots tournaments.

The three new tournaments are Enchanted Garden, Triple Twister and Goldbeard.

Enchanted Garden is similar to Loose Caboose. It is a low stakes tournament with an entry fee of $1.10. Players have ten minutes to spin the reels with their 10,000 credits. Then they wait for the outcome and see who takes top place on the leader board. Players are playing for the pot as a prize pool, which is formed from the $1 portion of their entry fee.

The next new online slots tournament is Triple Twister. This would be the new mid-range tournament, like Crystal Waters. Players have ten minutes to play with their 10,000 credits. The only difference, other than the slots game being used, is that the entry fee is $5.50, $5 of which goes into the pot for the prize pool.

Finally there is Goldbeard, the pirate themed slots game that gives the final tournament its name. Like the other two, players have 10,000 credits to spin with for ten minutes. Entry for this one is like the entry fee for Texan Tycoon: $11.00. Of that $11, $10 of it goes into the prize pool.

Rushmore has one of their online slots tournaments starting every hour on the hour. The three new slots tournaments have been worked into the rotation, interspersed with the three older slots tournaments.

Funky Chicken Anyone?

February 11th, 2011

The weekend is almost upon us and that brings up the very important question: Anyone up for some funky chicken?

Funky Chicken is the name of a five reel, twenty five reel online slots game from Vegas Technology. And the only reason I ask if anyone is up for some Funky Chicken this weekend is because this is the online slots game being used in Online Vegas’ Weekend Madness tournament this weekend.

Every weekend Online Vegas hosts an online slots tournament as a part of their Weekend Madness tournament series.

Beginning at 10:30 pm every Friday, the Weekend Madness begins and players begin spinning the reels of the online slots game chosen for that weekend. The spinning keeps going until 11:30 pm of the following Monday.

So playing some Funky Chicken in this tournament could be a nice lead up into your Valentine’s Day since it will not end until 11:30 pm February 14th.

Players can pay a $10 entry fee for a starting tournament balance of 325 credits. This weekend they can take those 325 credits to spin the reels of Funky Chicken to win a piece of the $30,000 prize pool. The top ten prizes are as follows:

1st place: $10,000
2nd place: $2,500
3rd place: $1,200
4th place: $900
5th place: $800
6th place: $650
7th place: $525
8th place: $475
9th place: $380
10th place: $300

Should any player cross the low balance threshold of $25, rebuys are available for another $10 each which will give players another $325 to play with.

So if anyone is looking for something to do this Valentine’s Day weekend, you can head over to Online Vegas and have some fun with Funky Chicken.
